Genevieve Vickers Salter – Principal

Mrs. Genevieve Vickers Salter, Principal at Love Center Christian Academy, earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Nova Southeastern University and later received her K-9 certification. She worked in the public school system for 30 years and retired after 16 years of teaching. Her own pursuit of education and love of learning spurred her to open this school that is founded upon Christian values. Mrs. Salter is also the Apostle of Love Center Church, Inc.

WELCOME TO OUR PARENTS’ CORNER (WE’RE HERE WHEN YOU NEED US)

Since we believe (as we’re sure you do) that parents’ involvement in their child(ren)’s education is so important, we wholeheartedly invite parents to take an active role in helping their child(ren) with homework and projects. We also encourage you to participate as a volunteer at our fund-raisers, our annual Field Day, and other activities. During the school year, the students will have award ceremonies, assemblies and evening programs. Seeing your smiling face in the audience will mean a great deal to them and bolster their confidence. We know that you want your child(ren) to not only do well but exceed all administrator, teacher and staff expectations. This can and will happen as we work together to ensure that our students soar!

INSTRUCTIONAL GOALS

Love Center Christian Academy will provide the Abeka developmentally appropriate curriculum for Christian education for students grades K-6. We will provide maximum education for each learning style and recognize the capabilities and talents of our students in a small class size setting.

LCCA will also provide activities that will develop critical thinking and problem solving skills, as well as promote an understanding and enjoyment of the arts. We will provide a comprehensive education that will enhance each student’s understanding of the world as well as use positive reinforcement for student behavior.

THE DRESS CODE PHILOSOPHY

LCCA has adopted a school Uniform Dress Code which is required for all students. The purpose of the Dress Code is to teach and model lasting principles of appropriate dress and behavior, focusing on Jesus Christ, not on the student’s appearance and not simply to address fashion or fads. Recognizing the variety in classroom settings and individual students, school uniforms offer methods for dressing modestly and appropriately under all circumstances, and uniform policies have been confirmed to improve attendance, and graduation and suspension rates.

Love Center Christian Academy admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.

Any form of harassment, including sexual harassment, is absolutely prohibited. Any incident of possible harassment should be brought immediately to the attention of the Administrator. Florida law requires all educational support employees, instructional personnel, and school administrators to immediately report any known or suspected child abuse, abandonment, neglect, or misconduct affecting a student. Any individual who knowingly and willfully fails to report such information to the Florida Abuse Hotline commits a third-degree felony, which may result in criminal penalties, including fines and imprisonment. In addition, failure to report may result in disciplinary action by the school and the Florida Department of Education, including termination of employment and possible suspension or revocation of an educator’s certificate.
