Academic Enrichment

Kindergarten – Throughout the elementary years, LCCA students will improve their reading comprehension and vocabulary knowledge as they learn and review the fundamentals of phonics. Using an exceptional reading program, teachers encourage your child not only to learn to read, but also to enjoy it! For Kindergarten students, reading skills are practiced and strengthened through activity time.  Dedicated teachers model a love for God’s Word and a desire to do right. Students develop spiritual awareness through memorizing Scripture, listening to Bible stories, and singing traditional hymns and modern choruses.

Elementary – Upper elementary students improve their reading through science, history, and health.  Critical thinking is also emphasized in practical subjects such as math and language arts.  Students will continue to enhance their spiritual acuity as they memorize and study Scriptures. In upper elementary, children study art techniques and apply them to their own creative art projects. Students in grades 5 and 6 practice teamwork and personal discipline while also seeing firsthand the importance of fitness through extra-curricular activities. Academics and character development are reinforced in a group setting as students enjoy learning patriotic, traditional, and fun songs in class.
